Learn about our history and the story behind our great company.
Don Deselles started his small, American made business nearly three decades ago, in his 500-square foot garage with a handful of specialty tools. Through his strong and reputable work ethic, expert craftmanship, and the help of his wife and children, Don built his family-owned and operated business — G&D Machine Shop.
In 2008, Don relocated his facility from Arabi, Louisiana, to Hammond where it stands today. The core mission of G&D continues — to ensure the highest degree of quality. G&D serves a diverse spectrum of industries including, aerospace, military and defense, food production, transportation, and petrochemical, on projects that directly impact the progress and innovation of America and the modern world.
In 2022, the family legacy will deepen as the next generation of G&D Machine Shop steps up to continue the work their father began nearly 30 years ago. Jason Deselles and his brother Scott will adhere to the core values their father built — personal relationships with their clients; the highest degree of quality workmanship; and a stellar work ethic — while moving G&D Machine Shop forward through utilizing the newest available technology, streamlining services, and increasing efficiency.
Through the acquisition of new equipment like a water jet machine and a press break, the brothers have made it possible to complete most all work in-house, under their roof. This enables G&D Machine to provide clients a more efficient work timeline because nearly all steps of the fabrication process can now be complete at G&D.
As the next generation increases technology and capability, look for many things to remain the same — just as they were when G&D Machine began — strong, personal relationships, efficient production, and expert collaboration, to ensure the highest degree of quality, all Made in America.
“We work hard to ensure the highest degree of quality for our clients.”
